“Red beast in trouble” is what you read in the logo on top. And they are in trouble indeed. Despite scientific reports proving that hunting does not have any positive effect on population regulation of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes), politicians in Belgium have eased the hunting on this beautiful animal. I was therefor happy to participate in a campaign to criticize this downright stupid decision. “Proud to be a fox” (click here for the website, Dutch only) is a campaign to make people aware of this situation, supported by several famous Belgian people. I photographed Erika Van Tielen for this purpose, slightly different from the subjects I usually get in front of my camera 😉
